The Shiyijia zhu text reads ¯à¨Ï¼Ä¤H¦Û¦ÜªÌ. The Yinqueshan text has the first three graphs, a single indistinct graph, and then the final two graphs. We surmise that the ren ¤H is the graph omitted, here and in the subsequent sentence.
The received text for the second half of this passage contains two phrases not found in the Yinqueshan text. After "starve when full," the received texts have "move them when at rest," an neng dong zhi ¦w¯à° ¤§. They also end the passage with "hasten to where they do not expect." Both these additional phrases are parallel to the phrases that precede them, and both are entirely consistent with the intent of the passage. We have nonetheless omitted them both as likely later additions to the text. We are supported in the second case by the Yulan (juan 306) and Changduanjing ªøµu¸g (Gexing ®æ§Î) citations. There is no external supporting evidence in the first case. Indeed, the Tongdian (158) and Yulan (270) both include the additional phrase. But the Yinqueshan text ends with a zhe ªÌ missing in the received text, suggesting a deliberate ending to the phrase.
