力 屈 財 殫 中 原 內 虛 於 家 百 姓 之 費 十 去 其 七
Translation
Diminished strength in the heartland, emptiness in the households. Of the hundred clans' resources, six-tenths is gone.
Annotations
The Shiyijia zhu text adds caidan 財殫 after the opening liqu. Its omission in the Yinqueshan text is supported by the Yulan (juan 332) and the Wujing qishu tradition. Wu Jiulong (p. 28) suspects that caidan entered through Cao Cao's or others' ammendations to the text, picking up on the term's mention in preceding passages of this chapter.
