Are we ‘closer’ to randomly chosen people in our local area?

During the last class, we determined that we have, on average, 2.9 degrees of separation from our list of ‘celebrities’. I posed the question of whether we are ‘closer’ (in terms of degree of separation) to people living/working in Brunswick. I raised the question as it highlights the importance of class and power relations in the six degrees hypothesis.
